Scenario:
Parli Thermal Power Station is an operating power station of at least 750-megawatts (MW) in Parli, Beed, Maharashtra. There are total 3 units working with capacity 250-MW each. All of these units experienced issues with lubrication oil contamination. Oil grade was 320 and 460. The gearboxes were generating solid contaminants and soot particles during operation, which mixed with the oil and circulated throughout the system. This contamination resulted in increased wear of gearbox frictional components, compromised oil seals, pump failures, and a reduction in oil life.

Solution:
We supplied and installed Centrifugal Oil Filtration machines manufactured by KARRTOER TECHNIUQE Pvt. Ltd., Pune India on two gearboxes as an initial trial to assess their performance.

Over a four-month operational period, we observed a significant reduction in oil contamination and a decrease in the frequency of breakdowns. Additionally, the performance of the gearbox pumps improved, leading to a reduction in failures. The oil life was notably extended as a result of these improvements.

Thermal power plant authorities installed the ‘KARROTER TECHNIQUE MAKE’ Centrifugal Oil Filtration machines on all of their gear boxes since they are satisfied with the performance, quality and trouble free operation of their machines.
